Green Updates: Unfortunate Timing, Eh?

Today is April 4.

On average, our last frost in central Virginia is anywhere between April 1 and April 10.

In the ten day forecast I saw no nighttime temperatures below 38 degrees.

My tomato seedlings have four true leaves.

It was supposed to rain this evening.

I thought the timing was perfect.

Madeline and I went out this morning to plant tomato seedlings and some squash and bean seeds.  She had her shovel, I had mine.  We got it done.  I was glad we had most of our garden planted.

I won’t put eggplant seeds in the ground for another few weeks.

Around 5 o clock this evening, it started to hail.

Then it turned to snow.

Oh well.
