I realize I don’t talk about our dog, Bruno, much on this blog. That’s because, generally, he is a pretty low key guy. He sleeps most of the day, comes running with me, then lets the girls climb all over him. He is my favorite “vacuum” during mealtimes.
But every once in a while, Bruno will get himself into trouble.
This week, he got himself sprayed by a skunk.
The last time, I found a natural remedy for skunk smell on dogs, and I plan to use it again. I thought some of my readers might like to know what works:
4 cups hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
2 tbsp dawn dish detergent.
Mix these ingredients in a bucket. Rub onto dog (or any other pet that may have gotten sprayed) while their fur is still dry. Rinse thoroughly and repeat once or twice until smell has completely dissipated.
The last time I only had to use the solution on Bruno once. This time, it may be twice.
I do hope this solution is helpful for some out there!
