This weekend we were able to celebrate our little Clara’s first birthday.
Seriously. The Squish is just about 1 year old. That blows my mind a little bit.
Family came in on Friday, then on Saturday I was so grateful to be able to have breakfast with my family, my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, sister, niece, and my mother. Because my parents and siblings live several hours away, we don’t see each other often, and enjoying some time together, especially with all the babies, is a lot of fun.
Sunday we had a party at our house for sweet Clara. I had a lot of help, of course, and the party was a great success. I was so thankful that Clara seemed to enjoy seeing all our friends and family sing to her and egg her on to eat cake, which she did so only reluctantly.
On a side note, I’m also thankful that all of the toys she received were well made either wood or sturdy plastic or “rugged” board books. My girls can be pretty rough with toys, and getting ones that will be fun and last a while is a true blessing.
Most of our family members left Sunday night, and my father left this afternoon.
And we promptly went to Walmart to retrieve a vacuum belt to repair our Bissell that broke on Sunday during party preparations.
Silly as it sounds, I’m thankful I didn’t have to go more than a few days without a working vacuum. In our house with lots of long carpeting, it could get pretty hairy (and furry and crumby, and Cheerio-y) very quickly!
